Financial Sustainability of the Health System: 10 Structural Measures to Address the Causes of Expenditure Growth

The financial sustainability of the health system is an old debate that has gained strength and urgency in the context of the current economic and financial crisis.

Description

In recent months we have witnessed the submission of multiple proposals, but one of them has been the focus of most comments: the implementation of co-payment, in various forms.

This measure is far from being a proposal that modifies the structural factors involved in the increasing health costs, those facts that have a sustained effect and prolonged in time. The co-payment, in isolation, instead simply provides more money to a system that lacks precise structural reforms.

After this finding, Antares Consulting wanted to add something more. With experience gained through working with more than 500 clients in the international environment, the result being the performance of more than 200 projects a year with a team of 80 highly trained consultants, we wanted to make our contribution to the specific report: Financial Sustainability of the Health System: 10 Structural Measures to Address the Causes of Expenditure Growth.
