Operations

Currently, operations management is a critical issue for healthcare organizations:

  • On one hand, assistance is becoming increasingly fragmented due to the increased specialization and new units and organizational areas.
  • On the other hand, there is tremendous pressure to improve efficiency since the reduction of the average stay is an increase in the tension of all flows and logistical assistance.
  • In addition, it increases the conditions of chronic outpatient activity in hopsitals.
  • All this, with two streams of patients (planned and unplanned) that enter simultaneously in the health centers with a high variability in clinical practice, and a fixed capacity and rigid against variable demand and a certain randomness.

In this context, it is necessary to improve efficiency, ensure quality of processes and outcomes, increase capacity, and meet the specifications. To this end, Antares Consulting projects used in our operations management models (Six Sigma, TQM, Lean Management, Theory of constraints-TOC) and quantitative methods (queuing theory, linear programming, flow analysis and itineraries, sequential methods , etc.) are widely recognized and used.

Examples of projects that we develop in Operations:

  • Admissions and patient flow
  • Surgical Center (PBQ)
  • Emergencies
  • Hospital Pharmacy
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Laboratories
  • Process management
  • Process reengineering
  • Traceability
